Hi, I'm Coleen,    

 

I live on the island of Yell, part of the Shetland islands (as far North as you can get in Britain!).  I design and create a range of Silver jewellery from a small workshop at the back of my house.

 

I attended a silver-smithing night class on the neighbouring island of Unst several years ago and loved it!  I was then offered redundancy from my admin job of over 20 years, so decided to grab the opportunity and try my hand at designing and making silver jewellery of my own.

I am a 1-woman-set up, so a lot of my pieces are individually hand-made (all my bangles, rings etc) are therefore unique - and every piece will be slightly different...  I also have some pieces cast in Silver (in order to be able to have certain designs more readily available).

I am now 7 years in, and still learning, but enjoying life in my workshop.

Creating this website was a bit of a Lockdown project for me (and a steep learning curve!), so if you see any glitches, please feel free to get in touch.  I have since then added the 'Shop' facility where you'll be be able to purchase most of my items - but feel free to get in touch for more info.
